Based near San Francisco, California, Pavo (Latin for peacock), is a collaboration between two women living half way around the world from each other, with the aim of bringing a curated collection of the finest Indian textiles to the North American market. Classic textile craft is combined with a contemporary color palette using natural fabrics which are mostly handwoven, not machine made.
The products incorporate a simple yet sophisticated aesthetic, appealing to customers looking for elegant accessories, apparel and home furnishings.
Anita, the owner of Pavo SF converted her love for the iconic weaves of India into a wholesale import business in 2007. The variety and richness of the designs and colors representing traditional artistry and craftsmanship, are sourced from the studio of acclaimed designer Neeru Kumar. Seasonal collections are offered at specialty retailers, museum stores, trunk shows and artisan fairs, and on our online retail shop, where new products are added every weekend. We offer free shipping and returns within U.S.A.
In the world of handmade textiles, Neeru Kumar is a rare and inspired talent. Using traditional techniques and indigenous materials, but with constant experimentation and research, Neeru has created a whole new vocabulary in textile design. Made with sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, her work is sold all over the world, due to her participation in international trade fairs in Paris, London and Frankfurt, and her collaboration with renowned Japanese designers. Neeru's textiles are best described as 'contemporary classics'.
With much gratitude for our continued success,
Pavo SF donates a portion of our profits every season to various charities in the USA and India,
